ORAN-Algerian and Spanish artists on Monday hosted a collective exhibition on Monday at the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MAMO).
The president of the Spanish cultural foundation “Balearea”, Ricard Perez Ivars said that this event is part of the strengthening of cultural cooperation with Algeria .
This exhibition was organized this year in several Spanish cities. Oran is considered the first destination of the foundation outside Spain, he said, adding that this cultural foundation will organize next year in Spain exhibitions of Algerian plastic artists “to discover the Algerian pictorial art and to strengthen the exchange between artists of both countries “.
The exhibition includes 98 paintings, photographs and marble and steel sculptures using modern pictorial art techniques.
The works represent drawings of stringed instruments, tires and keys, as well as other items used in Algeria and Spain.
Algerian artists Taleb Mahmoud and Said Debladji who participate with nine canvases of medium and large size have expressed that their works belong to the abstract school reflecting the Algerian musical heritage (instruments, rhythms, festive traditions …).
The Spanish painter Zulema Bagur underlined that this exhibition is an opportunity for Spanish artists to discover their works dealing with music and instruments.
This exhibition whose opening was marked by the presence of a large audience, lasts for a month.
