ALGIERS- The extraordinary review of electoral rolls, ahead of the presidential election of December 12, is to be launched on September 22 and will run until October 6, the National Independent Authority for Elections said Thursday in a statement.
“Following the signing of the presidential decree setting the date of convening the electorate for the presidential election on 12 December 2019, the National Independent Authority for Elections informs the citizens that the period for the extraordinary review of electoral rolls will start September 22 and end October 6 (15 days), in line with Article 14 of the organic law n° 16-10 of 25 August 2016, amended and supplemented,” the statement said.
“In this respect, citizens not registered on the electoral rolls, mainly those to be 18 years old on the voting day, that is, 12 December 2019, are invited to register with the communal commission in their place of residence, and which is under the supervision of the national authority for elections,” the statement said.
The offices of the communal commissions in charge of reviewing the electoral rolls open all week days (from 9:00 to 16:30), except Fridays.
The members of the national community abroad should register at diplomatic and consular missions according to the same proceedings, the statement added.
