Soolking concert: 32 people in court, Merdaci and Bencheikh heard


Algeria – Thirty-two people will be presented today, Monday, September 9, before the Prosecutor of the Republic at the court of Sidi M’hamed of Algiers in the case of the drama that occurred during the Soolking concert, having killed 5 people .

The court of Sidi M’hamed begins today hearings in the case of the tragedy that shook the Algerian capital. Five young people lost their lives in a scramble at the entrance to the stadium of 20-August-1955, which hosted the first Soolking concert in Algeria on August 22.

This Monday, 32 people, defendants, witnesses and the civil party, will be heard by the Prosecutor of the Republic. Among those people; the mayor of Belouizdad, the delegate Governor of Hussein Dey as well as the former Director General of the National Office of Copyright and Neighboring Rights (ONDA), Samy Bencheikh El-Hocine.

According to our sources, the investigating police services heard in this case the former Minister of Culture, Meriem Merdaci.
