Relizane textile complex, “contribution to rebirth of national industry”

RELIZANE – Relizane’s integrated complex of textile trades (Tayal) will contribute to the revival of the national industry in this field, said, Thursday, the Minister of Industry and Mines, Jamila Tamazirt, on a working visit to the province.

The complex which is located in the industrial zone of Sidi Khettab, “will contribute to the improvement of the quality of the textile products and the development of the outsourcing”, underlined the minister.

In the inauguration of a unit of the complex specialized in the dyeing of fabric “Denim” (Jeans), Djamila Tamazirt emphasized that “the quality and the innovation are important factors for the marketing of the products both in Algeria and internationally “.

Ms. Tamazirt also said that her working visit is intended to look closely at the progress of the works of the plant which, she explained, is among the “main projects leading the State to create added value and reduce the import bill “.

Relizane, she argued, will be “a pole of competitiveness in this new dynamic instilled in the industrial sector” dedicated to textiles and its various segments.

The Relizane plant is the result of an Algerian-Turkish partnership under rule 51-49, concluded between the Turkish company “Intertay” (a subsidiary of the “Taipa” group) and the Algerian public companies “C & H” and ” Texalg “, as well as the National Society of Tobacco and Matchmaking (SNTA), which resulted in the creation of the joint company” Tayal “.

This 250 hectare complex, which was launched in February 2016 with an investment of more than 171 billion dinars ($ 714 million), is the largest on an African scale.

The project is divided into two phases. The first is the construction of eight units for the textile industry, seven of which have already entered service.

A training school for textile trades was also created, with a capacity of 400 trainees, while a residential center of 567 housing units is under construction.

The second phase includes 10 other accessory production units for the manufacture of fabrics for domestic or professional use.

The two phases of realization generate about 25.000 jobs, namely 10.000 for the first and 15.000 for the second, indicated to the APS the person in charge of communication at the complex, Yasser Abdessalem.

During her visit, the Minister of Industry and Mines also inaugurated a stainless steel pipe manufacturing plant, with an annual production capacity of some 20,000 tonnes.

Forty jobs were created thanks to the realization of this industrial entity, fruit of a private investment.
