ALGIERS – Head of State Abdelkader Bensalah held, on Monday, a meeting with Prime Minister Noureddine Bedoui as part of the monitoring of the government activity, during which he examined the political and socio-economic situation of the country, said a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
“At this meeting, the Prime Minister gave a detailed presentation on the measures taken by the Government as part of the preparations for the start of the social year,” the statement said.
“The Prime Minister has reported all the resources deployed by the state to meet all the conditions for a successful start of the various school cycles,” added the same source.
“The Prime Minister also gave a presentation on the financial accounts of the public treasury during the first quarter of this year and the preparations under way for the finalization of the draft of 2020 Finance Act and the resulting proposals,” noted the same text.
On the social side, the Head of State was satisfied with the financial aid granted by the State to the citizens of the High Plateaux and South in the context of housing aid, calling on the Government to take all measures likely to improve the living conditions of citizens, including the improvement of the quality of public services.
Concerning the situation of the workers of the companies concerned by the conservatory measures, Mr. Bensalah insisted on the necessity to ensure the continuation of the activities of these companies and the safeguarding of their means of production as well as the jobs, concluded the statement.
