Environment and urban planning: Over 18,393 offences reported in H1 2019


ALGIERS-The services of the urban planning and environment protection police reported 18,393 offences countrywide in the first half of 2018, the Directorate General of National Police (DGSN) announced Wednesday in a communiqué.

In the first six months of the current year, the urban planning and environmental protection departments recorded 18,393 offenses across the country, a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) pointed out.
There are 10,860 environmental-related and 7533 urban-related offenses, the same source added, adding that the competent authorities also recorded 10,077 waste and 126 coastal protection offenses, in addition to 237 offenses related to hygiene and public health.
The same services identified 298 forest and water offenses, 122 green spaces, 7262 unauthorized construction and 271 other non-conforming building permits.
