ALGIERS – The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Beladehane Rachid, signed on Thursday, on behalf of the Head of State, Abdelkader Bensalah, the register of condolences at the headquarters of the Embassy of India in Algiers following the death of former Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.
“I have learned with sadness and sorrow the news of the disappearance of Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India. In this painful circumstance, I express on behalf of the Head of State, Mr. Abdelkader Bensalah the most sincere condolences of Algeria, to the Indian government and people, and the family of the deceased, “wrote Mr. Beladehane on the register of condolences.“Following the death of Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, the Republic of India loses one of its outstanding leaders who played an important role in the revival of India, its development and consolidation of its place in the world” he added, recalling that “the deceased had played a positive role in consolidating and promoting ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between India and Algeria in the various fields”.
“In this painful circumstance, I express my feelings of solidarity and compassion with the Republic of India and the family of the deceased,” he concluded.
