Hundreds of Algerians celebrating on streets of London


Hundreds of Algeria fans came out into the streets of north London celebrating widly after snatching Africa Cup of Nations.

Huge crowds of Algerians gathered in Finsbury Park, letting off flares, fireworks and climbing on top of bus stops to celebrate this historic victory, in addition to crowds in Trafalgar Square.

Groups of jubilant fans walked along Blackstock Road in north London waving the country’s white and green flag, while others climbed onto the front of City and Islington College to lead chants.

Elsewhere, tens of thousands of Algerians in France held street parties, with major gatherings in Paris, Lyon and Marseille.
