Former Minister of Industry Bedda remanded in custody

The investigating judge at the Supreme Court ordered Former Minister of Industry Mahdjoub Bedda incarcerated, in Algiers on Wednesday, after hours of questioning for wrongdoing when he was government minister during Bouteflika’s era.

Former Minister of Industry Mahdjoub Bedda, appeared, today, before the investigating judge at the Supreme Court, according to the website Ennahar Online.

The case of Mahdjoub Bedda has already been transferred to the Supreme Court as part of the investigation into KIA case. The latter was heard by the investigating judge of Sidi Mhamed court last month.

The former Minister of Industry, who also held the position of Minister of Relations with Parliament, will be heard on corruption in several cases.

Karim Djoudi, a former finance minister, appeared before the investigating judge at the Supreme Court yesterday, as did the current Minister of Tourism, Abdelkader Benmessaoud.
