Trade between Egypt and Algeria on the Rise


The trade turnover between Egypt and Algeria rose by 42,4 percent in the first quarter of 2019 to reach 201.4 million dollars, the Egyptian Office of Commercial Services reported.


In a report on relations between the two countries, the entity noted that exports from Cairo to Algiers increased by 11 percent in the first quarter of this year, representing $ 137.2 million.

Non-oil Egyptian exports increased by 33.4 percent, however, Algerian imports in the same category generally decreased by 2.4 percent, according to official Algerian statistics.

Meanwhile, Egyptian imports from Algeria increased by 261 percent and reached 64.2 million dollars in the first quarter of 2019.
