Double terror attack in Tunis: Algeria voices firm condemnation

ALGIERS- Algeria “firmly” condemned the double terrorist attack that targeted, on Thursday, the headquarters of the Judicial Police Directorate of El Gorjani and a police patrol in the Tunisian capital, said Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum, as quoted by Foreign Ministry statement.

Boukadoum expressed “his sincere condolences and deep feelings of compassion to the families of the victims”, wishing “a speedy recovery to the wounded among the elements of the police and civilians,” said the statement.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed to his Tunisian counterpart “the full solidarity of Algeria with Tunisia in the face of this abject phenomenon”, adding that “Algeria remains confident that this neighboring country will be able, thanks to its united people and its strong institutions, to defeat odious terrorism and  its vile plans. “

Two suicide bombers struck security forces in quick succession, on Thursday morning, in the Tunisian capital, killing at least one police officer and wounding at least eight other people, the Interior Ministry said.
