Haddad’s case: Supreme Court confirms decisions taken against former top officials


ALGIERS- Investigator advisor at the Supreme Court confirmed the decisions taken by the examining magistrate against two former Prime ministers, former ministers and a governor as part of the case of ETRHB group’s case Ali Haddad, said Wednesday the Supreme Court.

The concerned officials are: former Prime Ministers Ahmed Ouyahia and Abdelmalek Sellal, former Trade Minister Amara Benyounes, former Minister of Public Works and Transport Abdelghani Zaalane and El Bayadh Governor Mohamed Djamel Khenfar.

As a reminder, the investigating judge at the Supreme Court had ordered the placement of Ahmed Ouyahia and Abdelmalek Sellal as well as Amara Benyounes in pre-trial detention, while Abdelghani Zaâlane was placed under judicial supervision.

The investigating judge at the Supreme Court ordered the release of Mohamed Djamel Khenfar.

These former high-ranking officials are being prosecuted on a number of cases mainly related to the granting of undue public procurement and contract benefits, the squandering of public funds, abuse of power and conflict of interest.
