AfCFTA’s creation to set continent as “global economic power par excellence”


ALGIERS- Minister of Trade Said Djellab emphasized Tuesday, in Dakar (Senegal), the importance of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) in achieving the African integration and the exploitation of all human and natural resources, likely to set the continent as “a global economic power par excellence.”


Chairing a roundtable, on the sidelines of an African Forum held in Dakar, on the implementation of AfCFTA, Djellab presented an outline of the business and investment climate in Algeria, underlining the importance “to open and intensify business meetings to establish a real partnership on the ground” and exploit a market of 1.2 billion consumers.

During this meeting, marked by the participation of several African businessmen and large companies and which took place in the presence of Algeria’s ambassador to Senegal, Djellab highlighted Algeria’s key role as a “safe gate,” from and to Africa, in addition to the industrial, agricultural and commercial diversity and progress carried out by our country and its skilled people.
