ALGIERS- The investigating judge at the Supreme Court ordered, Sunday, that former finance minister Karim Djoudi be placed under court supervision after being questioned as part of an investigation into corruption cases, the Supreme Court said.
The investigating judge at the Supreme Court ordered, last week, the placement of two former prime ministers, Ahmed Ouyahia and Abdelmalek Sellal, as well as the former minister of commerce and public works, Amara Benyounes, on remand in custody for the same charges.
Former Minister of Public Works Abdelghani Zaalane was also placed under judicial supervision after being heard in corruption-related cases.
As a reminder and in accordance with the provisions of Article 573 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Prosecutor General’s Office at the Court of Algiers had transmitted to the Prosecutor General at the Supreme Court, the preliminary investigation file instructed by the judicial police of the Algerian National Gendarmerie, for criminal acts, against former Prime Ministers Abdelmalek Sellal and Ahmed Ouyahia, former ministers Abdelghani Zaâlane, Amar Tou, Boudjemaa Talaï, Amar Ghoul, Abdelkader Bouazgui, Karim Djoudi, Abdesslam Bouchouareb and two ex-walis Abdelkader Zoukh and Mohamed Djamel Khanfar.
