Upper House: Said Barkat, Djamel Ould Abbes waive their parliamentary immunity


ALGIERS- Senators Said Berkat and Djamel Ould Abbes have waived their parliamentary immunity through written statements submitted to the office of the Council of the Nation, the upper house of Parliament said in a statement.

“In accordance with the provisions of Article 127 of the Constitution and Rule 124 (paragraph 2) of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Barkat and Mr. Ould Abbes filed a written declaration by which they voluntarily waive their parliamentary immunity in order to allow Justice to exercise its constitutional missions, “said the same source.
