Algeria – The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Court of Algiers issued today, Tuesday, June 11, a statement on the case of businessman Mahieddine Tahkout.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, 45 persons were heard on suspicion, among other things, of money laundering, transfer of property obtained through corruption, squandering of public money, incitement of public officials to abuse their function in order to obtain undue advantages.
The main defendant in this case is the businessman Mahieddine Tahkout, boss of TMC. He was heard with his son, two of his brothers and three employees of his group, said the Prosecutor General, adding that these people were all placed under arrest warrant.
A total of 19 people were placed in custody and transferred to prison, while another 7 were put under judicial supervision.
In addition, a former prime minister, two former ministers and a current minister were also heard, their files were transmitted, with the files of five former walis and two current ones, to the Prosecutor General of the Court of Algiers.
