People are hitting the streets this day, Friday, May, 31, in different parts of the world to express their support to Palestine, calling for an end to Al Quds “Jerusalem” occupation.
These peaceful demonstrations come as a response to the call of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Ruhollah Al-Khomeini, who announced, in July, 1979, last Friday of the Holy Islamic Month of Ramadan Al-Quds International Day, voicing a complete support to the Palestinian cause against the Zionist enemy.
People worldwide, irrespective to their religions, and from all walks of life, are taking to streets in massive numbers to support Palestinians who are facing the dangerous prospect of a sellout of their rights through the US plan, condemning Zionist atrocities, US and some Arab leaders policies.
This year’s rallies are of a special importance coinciding with debates on the US-Israeli peace plan for Palestine or the so-called the ‘Deal of the Century’. Millions of protesters worldwide, mainly in Iran, are carrying banners and chanting slogans against this blatant conspiracy against Palestine and the Palestinians. We can see slogans such as: “Al-Quds is the eternal capital of Palestine” and “Death to America” as well as “No to the deal of the century”.
The marchers are also carrying slogans condemning the attempts by some Arab rulers to normalize relations with the Zionist regime and their coordinated efforts with the ‘Deal of the Century’ plan, calling for the boycott of Bahrain’s Summit where this deal is to be discussed, a deal mainly designed to complete the Zionists ominous project for pushing Palestinians out of their lands.
For its part, Iran, the initiator of this worldwide rendez-vous, is committed, despite the economic sanctions imposed on it and political pressure exercised by the West and some of the Arab countries, to grant all kinds of help to the Palestinians. Yesterday, 1,540 Palestinian families of the victims in Gaza Strip who were killed in the conflict with the Zionists were granted financial aids. The Iranian payment was delivered to the families during a conference attended by senior Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders in northern Gaza city on Thursday.
“We will continue supporting resistance, especially in occupied Palestine,” Ali Shamkhani, Secretary General of the Iranian National Security Council, told the audience via the video conference, adding: “We will support resistance regardless of any political pressure or economic sanctions,” highlighting that backing and supporting resistance is a legal duty for Iran.
It is worth mentioning, also, the continued military and financial support granted to the resistance in Palestine by Iran, which stands as the key reason behind the development of Palestinians’ military capabilities as admitted by Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who underlined that without Iran’s backing, they have not achieved what they achieved.
“If Iran didn’t support us in recent years, we wouldn’t have achieved what we achieved.”
Sinwar stated that the Grad rockets fired at the Zionist Entity during the latest round of fighting in early May were of “Iranian manufacture.”
In this aspect, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar seized the opportunity of Al Quds Day to stress on Palestinians’ refusal of US President Donald Trump and some Arab countries’ plan concretizing in the summit, due to take place in Bahrain next month, mentioning that the March of Return protests planned for this Friday (May 31, 2019) will be held under the banner of International Quds Day.
“Trump wants to sell al-Quds to the Zionists without paying a price,” Sinwar said. “I call him from here and say that I and the Palestinian people will be demonstrating along the [Gaza] fence in light of Quds Day in numbers that have not been seen before.”
On the other hand and on the eve of Al Quds Day, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner held a meeting with the Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem al-Quds to voice support for the conference in Bahrain, initiated by some Arab leaders, and handed him a map of the occupied territories which falsely recognizes Syria’s Golan Heights as part of the Zionist Entity, autographed by Trump, in a blatant violation of the international law.
Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, International Quds Day, legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, has been held worldwide on the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan.
