ALGIERS – An exhibition of painter Hind Ziour works, exploring the quest for identity was inaugurated,Thursday evening, in Algiers.
Entitled “Ch’koun ena” (Who I am?), the exhibition brings together some thirty paintings – partly unpublished-, made with mixed techniques combining oil and watercolor painting.
In large and small formats, the works of Hind Ziour celebrate the African, Berber, Arab and Ottoman women through portraits in tribute to the courage of women as in “African woman”.
“I am part of the artistic movement Aouchem which advocates the reappropriation of the Algerian identity in signs and symbols,” she said on the sidelines of the opening of her first solo exhibition in Algeria.
