Former Constitutional Council Chairman Tayeb Belaiz summoned to Blida’s military court as witness

Former Constitutional Council Chairman Tayeb Belaiz has been summoned to appear before the military prosecutor of Blida’s military court as a witness in the case against Said Bouteflika, General Toufik and Bachir Tartag, detained last week, according to Ennaher TV.

Tayeb Belaiz will be heard this Thursday as a witness in the conspiracy case led by the trio Athmane Tartag, Mohamed Mediene (aka Toufik) and Said Bouteflika, the brother of former president Abdelaziz Bouteflika, who stepped down last month.

In addition to these three former senior officials, Workers’ Party Secretary General Louisa Hanoune was also heard and remanded last Thursday.

As a reminder, Saïd Bouteflika and the generals Tartag and Toufik are prosecuted for “undermining the authority of the army and conspiracy against the authority of the state.”
