Algeria strongly condemns terrorist attack against Niger’s Army


ALGIERS- Algeria strongly condemns the terrorist attack that targeted, Tuesday, a patrol of Niger’s Army near the border with Mali, the spokesman of the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelaziz Benali Cherif, said Wednesday.

“We strongly condemn the terrorist attack that targeted, yesterday Tuesday, May 14, 2019, a patrol of the Nigerian army near the village of Tongo-Tango, in the region of Tillaberi, near the Malian border,” said Benali Cherif in a statement to the APS.

“We salute the sacrifice of the Nigerian armed forces fallen while performing their duty in the service of their country, extending our sincere condolences to their families, government and people of brotherly Niger,” he added.


“We remain convinced that these acts of terror perpetrated by hateful and indiscriminate terrorism will not undermine the determination of Niger, other African countries and the international community as a whole to confront and combat this transnational scourge until its total eradication, ” concluded the spokesman of the MFA.
