Four drug traffickers intercepted, up to 666 kg of treated Hashish seized in Tlemcen


Algeria – Four drug traffickers were intercepted, yesterday, Friday in Tlemcen, by the National Gendarmerie and Coast Guard who also seized 666,630 kg of treated Hashish, indicates, this Saturday, May 4, the Ministry of National Defense in a statement.

“As part of the fight against smuggling and organized crime, elements of the National Gendarmerie and the Coast Guard arrested, in two separate operations in Tlemcen and El-Ghazaouet, four drug traffickers and seized a large quantity of a treated Hashish amounting to 666,630 kilograms and a tourist vehicle, “the statement said.

In the same context, detachments of the ANP arrested, in coordination with the elements of the National Gendarmerie, in Tamanrasset and Bordj Badji Mokhtar, six gold miners and seized two all-terrain vehicles, seven metal detectors, seven generators, ten jackhammers and eighty bags of crude gold and stones.

In addition, a detachment of People’s National Army seized on May 3 in Adrar, a Kalashnikov-type machine gun and a quantity of ammunition, added the Ministry.
