DAKAR-The Algerian judo team (boys/girls) won 17 medals (4 gold, 3 silver and 10 bronze) at the Africa Cadets Judo Championship that wrapped up Friday in Dakar (Senegal).
For their part, Arselan Benhaoua (-73 kg) and Bessam Yahiaoui (-90 kg) were content with the silver, as their compatriot Loubna Nedjaï in the category of under 44 kg (girls).
The ten other Algerian medals in this competition were in bronze, obtained by Mohamed Amine Bessaï (-50 kg), Aymen Salah Ould Saïdi (-60 kg), Amir Abderrahim Haddad (-66 kg), Mohamed Amine Sebit (-66 kg) and Raouf Hallaf (+90 kg) in boys, as well as Djihane Boubidi (-48 kg), Nardjis Khacir (-52 kg), Rajae Aïssa-Mamoune (-57 kg), Racha Chahrazed Ramdane (-63 kg) and Nabila Benbelkacem (-70 kg).
A total of 96 judokas (55 boys and 41 girls), representing 14 countries took part in this competition, played on May 2 and 3 in the Senegalese capital, Dakar.
In addition to Algeria and Senegal, the host country of this competition, the 12 other nations involved are: Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Ivory Coast, Morocco, South Africa, Togo, Tunisia and Zimbabwe.
