SIDI BEL-ABBES – The participants of a first national conference on the heritage entitled “scientific method and rules of work in the realization of the manuscript and its diffusion”, opened Wednesday at the university Djillali Liabès of Sidi Bel-Abbès, insisted on the need to promote the manuscript and its availability to intellectuals and researchers.
Participants including national scholars and heritage specialists emphasized the importance of enhancing efforts to preserve the manuscript and the use of technologies for its wide dissemination to the benefit of researchers.
The president of the conference, Ammar Belaredj of the University of Sidi Bel-Abbès, highlighted the important means of restoring the manuscript with the use of information and communication technologies, underlining that the technological means allowed the researcher to acquire the manuscript more easily.
For his part, the director of the National Manuscript Center, Belfakir Ahmed, presented the manuscript conservation techniques and methods for its restoration, preservation, indexing, maintenance and publication for researchers.
The work of this two-day symposium is continuing, highlighting the scientific research and manuscript publication program, as well as the various national and international experiences in the field of manuscript making.
The first seminar on heritage is initiated by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the “Djillali Liabès” University of Sidi Bel-Abbès in collaboration with the laboratory of studies in Algerian Islamic thought as part of the celebration of the month of heritage.
