Abbassi Madani’s body to be repatriated to Algeria today


Abbassi Madani’s body will be repatriated to Algeria today, Thursday, April, 25, 2019 to be burried in the country.

Abbassi Madani, founder Islamic Front of Salvation, passed away,  Wednesday, April, 24, 2019.


It is the French-Algerian journalist, Mohamed Sifaoui, who announces it on his official Twitter account. “Death of Abassi Madani leader of Algerian Islamists during the 1980s and president of the Islamic Front of Salvation (FIS),” he writes.

Originally from Sidi Okba, in the province of Biskra, Abbassi Madani was one of the founders of the Islamic Salvation Front (dissolved FIS). He left the country since 2003, a few days after his release by Abdelaziz Bouteflika. Since then, he has lived in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Qatar.
