Former PM Ouyahia, Finance Minister Loukal summoned by National Gendarmerie

Algeria – Ahmed Ouyahia, former Prime Minister and Mohamed Loukal, Minister of Finance and former Governor of the Bank of Algeria were convened, Monday, April 22, to appear before the public prosecutor.

Research brigade of the National Gendarmerie of Bab Jdid convened, today, April 22, 2019, according to the public television EPTV, Ahmed Ouyahia, former Prime Minister and Mohamed Loukal, Minister of Finance and former Governor of the Bank of Algeria to appear before the public prosecutor of the court of Sidi M’hamed (Algiers), for cases of corruption;  “cases of squandering public money.


The announcement prompted a reaction from Algerian citizens who gathered, Sunday morning, in front of the court of Sidi M’hamed to wait for the arrival of the former prime minister.


The National Gendarmerie has summoned several politicians and actors of the national economy to hear them in several cases.
