Counterterrorism: 2 drug traffickers arrested, 100 kg of treated Hashish seized in Laghouat


ALGER – Two (02) drug traffickers were arrested, Wednesday in Laghouat, by a combined detachment of the National People’s Army (ANP) which also seized (100) kg of treated Hashish, while a quantity of 950 g of the same substance , was seized by elements of the National Gendarmerie in Tlemcen, said, Thursday, the Ministry of National Defense in a statement.

“As part of the fight against organized crime, a combined detachment of the National People’s Army arrested, on April 17, 2019 in Laghouat (4th Military District), two (2) drug traffickers in board of two (2) tourist vehicles loaded with (100) kilograms of  treated Hashish, while elements of the National Gendarmerie seized, in Tlemcen, another quantity of the same substance amounting to (950) grams.”

In the same context, detachments of the ANP “apprehended, during separate operations carried out in Djanet and Tamanrasset, (61) miners and seized two (02) trucks, (15) generators , (10) jackhammers and (4) bags of stone and crude gold mixture “.

In addition, and as part of the fight against illegal immigration, detachments of the ANP and elements of the National Gendarmerie “intercepted (16) illegal immigrants of different nationalities in Tiaret, In Guezzam and Bordj Badji Mokhtar”, the same statement concluded.
