President of Constitutional Council Tayeb Belaïz resigns



ALGIERS- President of the Constitutional Council Tayeb Belaiz tendered, Tuesday, his resignation to the head of State, Abdelkader Bensalah, the Constitutional body said in a statement.


“The president of the Constitutional Council, Tayeb Belaiz, informed the Council’s members in a meeting Tuesday, 16 April 2019, that he had presented his resignation as head of the Constitutional Council, a post he had been holding since he took oath on February 21,” according to the statement.

In his resignation letter to the head of State, “Belaiz expressed wish that God keeps Algeria and its brave people safe from any danger.”
