Nacera Cherid appointed acting general manager of Algerian Radio


ALGIERS- Nacera Cherid has been appointed, Thursday, acting general manager of the Algerian Radio, taking over from retiring Chabane Lounakel, a source from the public media outlet said.

The installation ceremony was attended by the Minister of Communication, Government spokesman Hassane Rabehi and executives of the National Radio.

In a statement at the end of the installation ceremony, the Minister of Communication called for “ensuring the proper functioning of the public service, especially at this phase of the history of our country in order to ensure the preservation of the strength of our country, “expressing his wish” not to pour into anything that is likely to fuel discord and hatred among the children of the same people “.

The Minister praised the work done by the Radio Workers, expressing gratitude “to all those who transmit the true information to the people who, during this crucial period of their history, showed their attachment to the country and strive to bring together the conditions likely to allow to move to a new qualitative stage in all the fields “.

For her part, Ms. Cherid said that she “will work tirelessly to ensure the continuity of the public service on Radio, which has an important position both nationally and internationally.”

Chabane Lounakel, meanwhile, stressed “the imperative to double efforts and solidarity so that the Algerian Radio can accomplish its missions at the service of the people, the state and the country.”
