Algeria-The director of Agence France-Presse (AFP) in Algiers, Aymeric Vincenot, was expelled yesterday Tuesday, April 09, 2019, by the Algerian authorities, who refused to renew his accreditation for 2019.

Aymeric Vincenot, 45, was forced to leave Algiers, Tuesday night, after the deadline that had been granted by the police on the expiry of his residence permit, AFP announced in a statement.

Fabrice Fries, CEO of AFP, denounced this decision as “unacceptable”. “This decision seriously undermines our system, which aims to ensure a comprehensive and rigorous coverage of historical events currently taking place in Algeria,” he added.
