Ain Temouchent: 11th Festival of Puppet Theater wraps up


AIN TEMOUCHENT – The 11th National Puppet Theater Festival wrapped up, Thursday at Ain Temouchent Culture House, after five days of performances by specialized theater troupes.


The performance hall of Ain Temouchent Culture House was completely filled by the mostly children’s audience, who greatly enjoyed the performance “Kiki”, by playwright El-Aïd Djelloul, treating, in 50 minutes, the importance of preserving nature.

The message addressed to the children aims to anchor in them the environmental culture, indicated the director of the show, Habib Medjahri.

The theater critic, Mohamed Kali said, that the puppet theater has succeeded thanks to the national festival which takes place in Ain Temouchent.

Mr. Kali lamented the break-up of the festival, during the past two years, for financial reasons, calling for granting greater interest for this cultural genre, “considered as an educational art, which has its own audience, young people, who represent the generation of tomorrow “.
