Algeria – The National Liberation Front (FLN) welcomed, Wednesday, the resignation of President Bouteflika officially presented Tuesday to the President of the Constitutional Council.
“The FLN welcomes the position of the President of the Republic, the mujahid Abdelaziz Bouteflika, who has reacted favorably to the conditions of the (current) situation requiring a continuity of the State and a good functioning of the institutions,” said a statement. of the former single party.
The statement added, “The FLN values the President’s efforts and sacrifices for the homeland in order to consolidate the foundation of national unity, reconciliation, development and national sovereignty.”
Moreover, the FLN has welcomed the position taken by the high command of the National People’s Army (ANP) since the beginning of the popular movement. The latter, recalled the FLN, has received favorably the demands of the Algerian people in accordance with the Constitution.
Finally, the old party called for support for the ANP’s suggestions, notably the application of Articles 7, 8 and 102 of the Constitution to guarantee “a peaceful and democratic transition”.
