President Bouteflika’s Advisor refutes press release attributed to him


Algeria – A statement attributed to the Adviser to the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ali Boughazi, has been, widely, shared on social networks.

The statement announces a coup d’état operated by the High Command of the Army and the encirclement of the Palace of the Presidency, the State residence and state television.

Contacted by Ennahar TV, Mohamed Ali Boughazi has made a categorical denial, reports the private television channel. For him, it is a false statement,  disclaiming any responsibility.

According to the same source, Boughazi claimed that the content of the statement is false and was “shocked” while reading it. This new false statement follows another spread yesterday on the web, announcing the retirement of the Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaïd Salah.
