TUNIS – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra said, Friday in Tunis, that Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi “is convinced of the ability of the Algerian people to build a better future through democracy, cohesion and concord “.
“I have provided explanations to the Tunisian President and we have a shared conviction that Algeria and Tunisia will continue the construction of the Maghreb building, and that their stability will strengthen the stability of the entire region”, emphasizing that “this cooperation will be consolidated in the future, serving the supreme interests of both countries and the region,” he said.
Moreover, Lamamra said he “transmitted a message from President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to his brother President Essebsi”, recalling “Algeria’s support for Tunisia to ensure the success of the Arab summit”.
He said further that the meeting had provided an opportunity for both parties to review the situation in the Arab world, “saying there was” total convergence “of views of the two countries on measures to be implemented in order to “mobilize the Arab world’s capabilities, in defense of the Palestinian cause and in the face of other challenges, including the Arab Golan issue”, noting the “need for strong solidarity among all Arab peoples”.
