ALGIERS-The new Managing Director of the National Television Corporation (EPTV), Lotfi Cheriet was installed Tuesday in Algiers, in replacement of Toufik Khelladi, who will be assigned other duties.
He also congratulated the new DG of the EPTV, wishing him “more success, especially in this particular context that the country lives, which requires from us, and more than ever, more dedication and loyalty, in the service of the country and the institutions of the Republic “.
Thanking the President of the Republic for the confidence placed on him, Mr. Cheriet said, for his part, he arrives at “a very difficult and complicated time”, saying he is confident about his ability to cope ” all the challenges that arise, by making contributions to develop and organize the EPTV “.
In this regard, he emphasized “the need to define clear objectives, including the promotion of media content at the highest levels of professionalism, openness and credibility “.
On the other hand, Mr. Khelladi stressed that he has benefited from the “full support of the executives and TV staff these recent years “, while wishing Mr. Lotfi Cheriet success in his new role as the head of the EPTV.
In recent weeks, journalists, workers and technicians from EPTV have organized sit-ins, demanding respect for “public service” and “objectivity in monitoring developments in the country”.
Earlier, the Director General of the national television Corporation (ENTV), Toufik Khelladi, was dismissed and replaced by Mr. Lotfi Cheriet.
