Counterterrorism: Seven homemade bombs destroyed in Tebessa


ALGER- Seven homemade bombs were destroyed Monday in a combing operation conducted by an Army detachment in Tebessa, the ministry of National Defense said Tuesday in a statement.

“As part of the fight against terrorism and following a search operation conducted in Tebessa (5th Military Region), a detachment of the National People’s Army discovered and destroyed on March 25, 2019, seven (7) home-made bombs , “says the same source.

Moreover, as part of the fight against organized crime, a detachment of the ANP in coordination with the national security services “arrested, in Tamanrasset (6th MR), two (2) smugglers in possession of ( 57,360) kilograms of “treated Hashish”, while other detachments and elements of the National Gendarmerie and Algerian Customs “intercepted six (6) smugglers and seized (26,420) packets of cigarettes, (1,824) fire units and (808) psychotropic tablets in separate operations in Ouargla, Biskra (4th MR) and Tebessa (5th MR) “.

In addition, a detachment of the ANP “apprehended, in Djanet (4th MR), three (3) miners and seized eleven (11) generators, ten (10) mini stone crushers and various objects,” also reported the press release.
