Algeria – The party of the National Liberation Front reacted, Sunday in a statement, to the declarations of Hocine Khaldoun, member of the coordinating body of the former single party.
The FLN reiterated its support for President Bouteflika’s road map to pull the country out of its political stalemate, disavowing Hocine Khaldoune who described the inclusive national conference proposed by President Bouteflika as “useless”.
“The party of the National Liberation Front renews its attachment to the road map drawn by the president of the republic and in which promised a series of radical reforms,” reads the press release.
Earlier, Hocine Khaldoun, a member of the coordinating body of the National Liberation Front (FLN), questioned the organization of the inclusive national conference proposed by President Bouteflika.
“At the FLN, it is estimated that the national conference will not solve the problem,” he said in an interview with Dzair TV. For him, the consensus conference proposed by President Bouteflika is no longer useful. It is therefore necessary, according to him, to, first, elect a president “within the deadlines”.
