“No help was requested by Algiers,” affirms Russia’s Kremlin


Algeria – Dimitri Peskov spokesman for the Kremlin, the Russian presidency, said, on Thursday (March 21st), that Algeria has not seeked help from his country, reports Sputnik.

President Bouteflika has, indeed, sent a letter to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. This letter was conveyed by Ramtane Lamamra, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his recent visit to Russia.

According to the spokesman of the Kremlin who spoke at a press conference, no help was requested by Algiers. He added, in this sense, that the situation in Algeria “should be settled without any foreign interference”.
