Deputy PM Lamamra reassures Algeria’s international partners, calling for non- interference


ROME -The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ramtane Lamamra, held talks Monday in Roma with the President of the Italian Council of Ministers, Giuseppe Conte, during which he reassured Algeria’s international partners.

“I was received  by the President of the Italian Council of Ministers, to whom I delivered a written message from the President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, as part of the regular consultations between our two countries based on the treaty of friendship, good neighborliness and cooperation, “Lamamra said after the meeting.

He said he had exchanged with Mr. Conte on “the news of Italy in relation to the construction of Europe and the news of Algeria that interests our Italian friends”.

“Those who are watching our reality from afar, have the feeling that a potentially risky situation is developing,” he said, adding that Algeria “is known to be an exporter of peace, security and stability , reassuring its international partners that this special moment in our history is an internal one “.

“There is no particular concern for our international partners and as a state and people, we are deeply committed to the principles of non-interference in the internal affairs of our country,” he said.

“We reassure our partners and invite them to continue to develop our mutually beneficial partnership, highlighting the occult forces, NGOs and individuals develop interference intentions and intervention in our internal affairs, “he pointed out, ensuring that under these conditions,” it is the entire Algerian nation who, as a single person, would oppose this kind of impulses “.

Mr. Lamamra also noted that Italy is an “important” partner country for Algeria, “adding that he seized this opportunity to” take stock of bilateral relations, especially since it was noted that for 8 months, Algeria is not represented in Rome by an ambassador and that this situation will be quickly corrected, “he said.
