Discussions underway between Indonesia’s Pertamina, Algeria’s Sonatrach to seal diverse partnerships

ORAN (Algeria)- Indonesia’s national energy company “Pertamina” plans to sign agreements on oil drilling with the group Sonatrach, especially in the Algerian territorial waters, the Indonesian firm’s Public Relations manager, Mehdi Makri, said Tuesday.

On the sidelines of the 9th edition of the international exhibition on the oil and gas industry in North Africa (NAPEC 2019), the same manager pointed out that the company Pertamina, which has good relations with Sonatrach, intends to sign agreements of partnership in oil drilling especially in Algerian territorial waters.

He said that this company, established in Algeria since 2014, operates under the 51/49 rule at the “Menzel Ledjmet” deposit of Ouargla, reporting that its production has increased from 14,000 barrels / day of oil in 2014 to 18,000 b / d in 2018 with the prospect of exceeding 19,000 barrels / d in 2019.

“Discussions are underway with Sonatrach to expand the Indonesian company’s operations with the signing of oil drilling agreements in the South,” he added.

The Indonesian company Pertamina proposed, during its participation in the 9th edition of the international exhibition on the oil and gas industry in North Africa (NAPEC 2019), other services especially in drilling, air transport of workers of the south (transportation between the base of life and the fields).
