ALGIERS- The 2nd International Environment and Renewable Energies Exhibition (SIEERA) wrapped up Sunday, in Algiers, with the signing of 2015 partnership agreements between national and specialized foreign companies, said Minister of Environment and Renewable Energies Fatima Zohra Zerouati.
She added that 1,300 professional meetings were organized on the occasion of this fair between economic operators and national and international experts who presented their experiences and exposed the various modern technologies and the most sophisticated environmental innovations and waste recovery, in all its forms.
In addition, the first person in charge of the sector said that this edition “saw the signing of an agreement between her department and the Ministry of Communication for the training of more than 720 journalists in the field of the environment and renewable energies in addition to framework agreements with several embassies of foreign countries, including Finland and the Netherlands, to encourage bilateral cooperation on environmental protection, climate change mitigation and renewable energy development.
According to Ms. Zerouati, the pavilions of the show experienced, during four (04) days, a “great activity”, with the participation of more than 140 exhibitors, including 120 national and 22 foreign companies, besides national associations pioneers in the field of the environment and renewable energies.
Also, a notable presence of the Algerian woman marked this event which coincided with the International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8 of each year.
Organized from 7 to 10 March at the Palais des expositions (Algiers), the SIEERA 2019 was placed under the theme “Off-grid renewable energies for a sustainable environment in southern Algeria and isolated areas”.
