TUNIS – The Minister of Justice, Tayeb Louh and the Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior, Local Authorities and Regional Planning, Salah Eddine Dahmoune signed, on Monday in Tunis, two conventions and two protocols relating to the protection of the Arab region from cross-border crime.

The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the opening of the joint meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior and Justice held in Tunis, at which Algeria is taking part with a delegation, led by the Minister of Justice, Tayeb Louh and composed of the Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior and senior officials of the sectors of Interior and Justice.

In his opening remarks, Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed stressed “the need to face together the security challenges in the Arab region, “calling for” the promotion of cooperation at the highest level and greater complementarity between the security and justice apparatus of the Arab States “.

For his part, Saudi Minister of the Interior, Abdelaziz Ben Saud Ben Nayef said that “the signing of conventions and the implementation of strategies and security plans, within the framework of the institutions of the Arab joint action, constitutes one of the mechanisms to cope with the terrorist surge in the Arab region “.
