ALGIERS-The Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) and its Romanian counterpart (CCIR) on Tuesday sealed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during a business forum that brought together economic operators from both countries.
At the end of the signing ceremony, Benamor said that this document will help develop and maintain partnership relations between Algerian and Romanian businessmen and gather their proposals and requests.
In this sense, Mr. Benamor emphasized the imperative of establishing a “win-win” partnership that should benefit both parties through, inter alia, co-production and productive investment.
“We must go together to a more empirical and profitable step for both parties to further promote our economic relations,” he told businessmen at the meeting.
“Romanian people have proven expertise in the automotive sector, especially in the subcontracting industry and we rely on their know-how to develop our automotive industry,” he said.
The president of CACI quoted, in this regard, the visit of the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs to Algeria in March 2018, during which he insisted on the need to take steps to concretize partnership projects in the fields of industry, training and trade.
Referring to the volume of trade between the two countries, the president of the CACI considered it “well below existing capacities and potentialities”, believing that it is up to the economic operators to further develop them.
