Counterterrorism: Two terrorists surrender, military weapons discovered in Tamanrasset


ALGIERS- Two terrorists surrendered Monday to the military authorities in Tamanrasset (1971-km south of Algiers), giving information that led Army units to find a cache containing weapons of war and ammunition, the ministry of National defense said Tuesday in a statement.


As part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of the National People’s Army forces, two (02) terrorists surrendered yesterday, February 25, 2019, to the military authorities in Tamanrasset (6th Military Region).
This is the so-called Mustapha Imlaouene, aka ‘Zakaria’, who joined the terrorist groups in 2015, and Lahcen Dellali, aka ‘Abu Youcef’ who joined the terrorist groups in 2016, ” added the same source.

The terrorists provided information that led to the discovery of a cache containing “two (02) Kalashnikov-type machine guns, one (01) RPG-2 rocket launcher, ten (10) BM-21, twelve ( 12) 120 mm caliber rockets, two (02) rockets for SPG-9, one (01) rocket for RPG-7, nine (09) charges for RPG-7, seven (07) mortar rounds of 82 mm caliber, 180 defensive grenades, four (04) ammunition magazines, three (03) ammunition chains of 12.7 mm caliber, in addition to a quantity of ammunition of different calibres (2.257 bullets) “.
