BLIDA – Some 1300 civil protection officers have benefited from training courses in various fields since the launch, in 2017, of a twinning project between the Algerian Civil Protection and the European Union (EU), said, on Sunday in Blida, the Algeria-EU twinning project leader, the doctor Colonel Sahraoui Amari.
Speaking on the sidelines of the launch of a training session for civil protection psychologists, Mr. Sahraoui told the APS that the twinning project concluded by the Civil Protection and the EU was originally to be implemented in the period from January 2017 to June 2018 before being extended to next June.
“1300 officers from different wilayas have benefited from training courses in different fields, within the framework of this twinning,” said the same official, pointing out that the financial envelope allocated by the EU to this operation amounted to 1.5 million euros and concerns 76 activities, all of which concern the civil protection professions.
This agreement is essentially aimed at strengthening the capacities of civil protection in order to be in tune with the development of society.
