Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, highlighted the vast potential for cooperation with Algeria in scientific matters during his visit to a research center in Algiers.
According to Prensa Latina, Malmierca, who is visiting the North African nation, described the visit to the Pasteur Institute, a center specializing in research for the prevention and treatment of mainly infectious diseases, as interesting.
In a message on his Twitter account, the Cuban minister stated that collaboration in this area is part of the agenda of the XXII Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Commercial, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the two countries.
He also reported on the meeting with Algerian Finance Minister Abdurrahman Rawia, in which both parties noted the “good progress of bilateral agreements in this area.
The possibility of expanding economic relations was also part of the agenda of the meeting, he added.
Malmierca heads the Cuban delegation to hold the intergovernmental meeting that ends next Thursday 21.
Diplomatic sources revealed that these sessions serve to continue strengthening the historical ties of brotherhood, solidarity and fraternity, and economic-commercial relations between the two nations.
The large Cuban delegation arrived the day before in Algiers from Qatar, where Malmierca exchanged with authorities and reviewed the cooperation between Havana and Doha.
