APN: Algeria-Kenya friendship parliamentary group set up

ALGIERS –  Algeria-Kenya friendship parliamentary group was installed, Tuesday at the headquarters of People’s National Assembly, with the aim of promoting parliamentary action between the two countries, a statement from the Assembly said.

Presiding over the installation ceremony of this parliamentary group, the assembly’s Vice President for External Affairs, Abderrazak Terbeche, emphasized “the great importance accorded by Algeria to strong relations of cooperation and friendship with Kenya, “noting that” the official visit by the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta to Algeria, was a first step towards strengthening cooperation, in addition to the signing of several conventions and memoranda, particularly; in the fields of oil, gas and energy, “the statement added.

During the installation ceremony held in the presence of the Ambassador of Kenya to Algiers, Lemoshira Richard Moi and a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Terbeche welcomed the reconciliation recorded between parliamentarians of the two countries, thanks to the exchange of visits “.

For his part, the Kenyan diplomat affirmed “the convergence of his country’s views with those of Algeria, particularly with regard to issues of peace and security in Africa”, saying that “the parliamentary partnership is preparing the ground for cooperation in the economic and commercial fields “.
