DUBAI – Trade Minister Saïd Djellab and Emirati Minister of Economy Sultan Bin Saeed Al-Mansouri discussed, on Tuesday in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), the possibilities of a bilateral partnership for the construction of dry ports and logistics platforms in Algeria, in addition to the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of industry “halal”.
“The establishment of Algerian-Emirati partnerships in the field of basic infrastructure of the trade sector, like the dry ports, transit platforms and logistics chains in the Great South, particularly Tamanrasset and Tindouf, will bring an added value to the achievements already accomplished,’ said Mr Djellab, during ‘a meeting, held on the sidelines of the international food fair “Gulfood 2019”, organized from 17 to 21 February.
Highlighting the great potential of the two countries to launch joint investments in the field of the “halal” agro-food industry, the Minister referred to the major progress made by Algeria in this area, particularly in terms of organization.
Recalling that the United Arab Emirates is “an important and strategic partner” for Algeria, Mr. Djellab invited Emirati operators to discover the investment opportunities offered by Algeria in new areas, particularly tourism, agriculture and the automotive industry.
