Algeria-United States of America parliamentary group was installed, on Tuesday, at People’s National Assembly by Abdelhamid Si Afif, chairman of the Committee on External Affairs and Community Abroad, in the presence of the American ambassador in Algiers, John Desrocher.
On this occasion, Si Afif said that this Parliamentary Friendship Group is a “milestone for bilateral cooperation and strengthening of the parliamentary dimension so as to consolidate Algerian-American friendship bonds.”
In this regard, Si Afif, who supervised the Group’s installation on behalf of the Lower House Speaker Mouad Boucharab urged “the parliamentarians to adapt to the actions undertaken by their governments on the diplomatic front.”
“Algeria attaches great importance to the Parliamentary Diplomacy by introducing it the 2016 Constitution, initiated by President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika”, the Committee’s Chairman recalled.
Si Afif also stressed “the APN’s constant willingness to follow this positive dynamic and materialize those reforms, through initiatives and activities aimed at building friendship bonds with countries having friendly relations with Algeria.”
