Women status-CSW63 preparatory document: Algerian delegation’s proposals included


 ALGIERS- Minister of Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs Ghania Eddalia, also head of the Arab Women’s Committee and of Arab Women Organization (AWO), took part in the consultations held by African Ministers, in Cairo (Egypt), to enrich the version of the final document that will be presented at the 63rd UN Session on the Status of Women (CSW63), said Wednesday a ministerial communiqué.

Ms. Eddalia welcomed the inclusion of the Algerian delegation’s proposals and observations in the preparation of the text of the final communiqué of the African ministerial meeting, as a prelude to the CSW63, scheduled for March 11-22 in New York. (United States).


On the first day of this meeting, held on Tuesday, the Minister outlined the main points of Algeria’s social protection policy, in order to promote and consolidate the status of women in society by enabling her to fulfill her role, enshrined in the Constitution and national laws in all fields.

In her capacity as Chairperson of the Arab Women’s Commission, the Minister of Solidarity, once again, invited Arab ministers to participate “massively and actively” in the work of the 38th session of the Arab Women’s Commission, scheduled for February 24th in Algiers.
