Installation of Algerian-Malaysian parliamentary friendship group

ALGIERS- An Algerian-Malaysian parliamentary friendship group was set up, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the People’s National Assembly to “encourage parliamentary exchanges and lay foundations for new prospects of bilateral cooperation,” said a communiqué of the Parliament’s Lower House.  

Speaking on this occasion, People’s National Assemnly Vice President Abderrazak Terbeche welcomed the “exceptional and excellent” political relations binding both countries, in addition to the historical ones that date back to the support of Malaysia for Algeria and the Algerian people in their struggle for independence.


At the installation ceremony held in the presence of the Malaysian Ambassador to Algiers, Mohd Tarid Bin Sufian and the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Djihad Eddine Belkas, Mr. Terbeche put forward ” bilateral ties that have become more consolidated, following official visits at the highest level, marked by periodic and regular political consultation on issues of common interest “, insisting on the imperative of” promoting and broadening them to vital areas, especially economic one”.

For his part, the Malaysian ambassador welcomed the “level of relations binding Algeria and his country”, affirming “the commitment of his State to promote bilateral relations at the highest level, particularly in the areas of higher education and tourism “.
